What is a smart URL?

The name of your shop is important because it's the name by which folks will remember you.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes. A contract is required for selling on Wild Iris Books for two reasons.

We are very hands on. We do not bury our home office phone number so deep in the pages of our website that it is impossible to find. Our number is 352-358-1280. Because we invest in our sellers upfront, we ask that sellers commit to us and everyone else who sells on the market for at least one year.

By signing a contract you are locking in seller's rates which could save you thousands of dollars for as long as you are part of Wild Iris Market.

How does a seller get paid?

Our vendors are paid twice per month via direct deposit to your bank account.

Who ships the products I sell to my buyers?

Wild Iris Market is an online support system which allows you to sell your goods and services directly to the consumer and is not involved in order fulfillment.

There are two ways orders are shipped to your customers. If you warehouse your own merchandise then you will ship directly. If you carry drop ship items in your shop, then the company you contract with will ship those items for you.

Can I have more than one shop?

Absolutely! In fact, if you are going to carry very specific merchandise it would be to your benefit to have a shop that became known as "the" go-to place for "those" products.

Let's say you have a passion for all things Celtic but you also felt the world needed as many organic cosmetics as possible. You could easily carry both product lines but by dividing the categories and making two distinctly different stores, each specializing in a particular market sector, you have a better chance of being found on the Internet and those potential customers who find you will have been looking for exactly the type of goods you sell. This means your conversion rate (looker to buyer) should be higher.

We're all kids at heart! So, technically, yes. If you're under 18, though, you will need the big kid's (parent or legal guardian) permission and supervision to sell on Wild Iris Market. Any blog created at friendsofwildiris.org by a minor over the age of 13 which links back to a store must link to a store owned and operated by said minor's parent(s)/legal guardian.

We love kids and want to do all we can to help nurture their creativity and support their dreams but we gotta' follow the rules of the legal road.
